We are doers, artists, engineers, Music City Acoustics.

Our story

Music City Acoustics wasn’t born out of a lofty dream, it was born out of necessity.

For as long as we could remember, the acoustics world wasn’t an attainable one in price point or knowledge. It seemed like the only people who could build functional studios had a big budget to spend, a degree in acoustical engineering, or both.

We knew this firsthand, because we wanted the same thing. Buying acoustic solutions took a chunk out of our wallets, and all of the internet searching we did for “how-to hang acoustical panels” didn’t help whatsoever.

We just wanted high-quality, acoustic treatments that could transform our spaces, and the support and education to make the best decisions. And we wanted it to be simple and effective.

So that’s why we built Music City Acoustics – the first-of-its kind acoustics company focused on products, design and expertise, all tailored for you and your space.

Graham Waks

Owner / FounderAs the owner and founder of Music City Acoustics, Graham is the voice on the other end of the phone and the hands at the other end of the email. When Graham isn’t designing studios and products, he enjoys music, spending time with family in California, wine tasting, and long walks through East Nashville with his 11 year-old cattle dog, Barley.

Gabe Kitzman

Shop Manager / Head of Production Gabe makes sure MCA’s day-to-day gets done, and gets done well. As the head of production, he oversees all orders and the shop staff, keeps the work environment cool, and the boss happy (the boss meaning Graham, who he’s been buds with for over a decade). He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and baby girl, and producing music on the side. How can he not practice music production, since he’s been in the industry since 2010? See for yourself, his work can be listened to here.

Zoe Cummins

Senior FabricatorIf there was ever a Rosie the Riveter of acoustics, it would be Zoe. As the senior fabricator and leading lady of MCA, Zoe handcrafts acoustic treatment products for our clients. Outside of the 9-5, Zoe swaps out her staple gun for a rhythm guitar and her love for vocals. With a music business degree from Belmont University, she is a proud (and talented) singer-songwriter and recording artist. You can listen to her music here.

Armando is a man of many talents at MCA, handling builds, incoming orders, panel packaging and installs. But did you know he’s also a man of many degrees? Acoustic Consultant

With 6 years of woodworking experience under his belt, Michael leads consultations and designs acoustic treatments for MCA. When he’s not working on location, Michael can be found in the shop working on custom projects, and earning his audio engineering degree at Belmont University.

Wherever there’s (loud) music, Michael ensured us he’ll be there. He’s a studio engineer, runs live sound at events, and still makes time to hike around Nashville (probably listening to loud music there, too).

Our company values

01 Education

Knowledge is power, and acoustics can be confusing. Through our blog, install guides, free room advice service, and educational videos, we hope to prepare our clients and readers to make smart acoustical decisions so they can get the most out of their space.

02 Integrity

We know how difficult it is to find reliable, quality information regarding what YOU need to make your room sound incredible. Part of our mission is to ensure that we help you understand exactly what acoustic treatment will (and will not) do in your space. Honesty and collaboration are hallmarks of our consultations, and we are dedicated to the satisfaction of our customers.

03 Quality

At Music City Acoustics, we put pride in perfection. Our acoustic panels are hand-made, hand-wrapped, and feature Guilford of Maine fabric. We are dedicated to ensuring that your panels arrive in your space in the same, excellent condition that they were when they left our shop.

04 Community

Music City Acoustics is a small (yet mighty) business… We love our city, and even as we grow nationally, we are dedicated to partnering with our local musicians, businesses, and places of worship to elevate the sounds of Nashville – Music City.
